The online orientation highlights information found in the Summer in NYC Student Handbook. It addresses dates and deadlines, what you need to do before classes begin to prepare for the start of your studies, and information about academic advising and resources on campus. All students are asked to watch the online orientation and review the handbook before the start of class.
Summer in NYC Student Handbook
The Student Handbook is available to download or print. It contains all the information you need to know to have a successful summer, from dates and deadlines to academic procedures, from housing and dining to getting around campus and the city and how to find out what’s going on in New York City. It is recommended that all students download the Handbook and read it prior to the start of class and use it as a reference during the summer months.
International Student Check-In
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires all new international students with a J-1 or F-1 visa to report their arrival at NYU to the Office of Global Services (OGS). OGS will host a check-in to help you meet this requirement. All international students must attend. Failure to check-in may jeopardize your ability to legally remain in the United States. You must bring to the check-in your I-20, I-94 card, passport, and emergency contact information in the United States and in your home country. Information about the mandatory check-in is online at the OGS website.
International students with any questions about their student status or experience at NYU prior to or during the summer should contact the Office of Global Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 212-998-4720.
